Surrender

 
SURRENDER

There is nothing to do
but give into the dying
 
So the wildebeest goes
to live in the lion

This is the second poem I ever wrote ─ while standing in the Caribbean ocean waves in Puerto Rico, I wrote this on the back, inside cover of “Writing Down the Bones” by Natalie Wood.
